Our Pumpkin was 3rd!

All the pumpkins were weighed at Assembly.
Room 13s pumpkin was heaviest at 37.25 kilos.
Well done Room 13!
Room 9s pumpkin was the second heaviest at 36.75 kilos.
And our pumpkin, Room 4, was third heaviest at 29 kilos.
The pumpkin weighed the same a Whitiora!

Weighing pumpkins

With great excitement Room 4 went to gaze through the window of the resource room at the mighty pumpkins.

Look at the pumpkins!

We saw the posters about the competition. We decided we didn't know what kilograms were so we went back to class to find out.

We got a scale that measures objects up to 10 kilograms.

Which one is heaviest?

The pumpkins have been picked. We went to see them on display in the Resource Room. There is a competition to guess which one is the heaviest.
Eleven children in Room 4 think our pumpkin will be the heaviest. Eight think Room 9s will be the heaviest and 2 think Room 13s will be heaviest. They will be weighed at Positive Assembly on 21st March, so we will find out then! Which one do you think will be the heaviest?

Publishing

Every week, each student in Room 4 publishes a story in their Homebook. Publishing means they illustrate a story they have written with their best drawing then practice reading the story. We have recorded Room 4 reading their published stories. Listen to them and leave us a comment - who do you think reads their story the best and why?
