Making smoothies!

We had visitors from Room 9 who made smoothies for us. They explained the process as they worked.
First, they added milk..
Next they added yoghurt..
Then they added sliced bananas..

Finally, they added mixed berries..
They blended all of the ingredients together..
It was loud!
They poured it into cups..

The excitement was almost too much!
The finished product was delicious..

National Shakeout Day

Here are the children of Room 4 practicing what to do in the event of an earthquake:

Stu Duval

We had the amazingly talented artist and author Stu Duval visit us here at school. He told a fabulous story about possums which had the children completely captivated...

He returned to school the following day to teach us how to draw using letters of the alphabet...

Even those of us with very little artistic 'talent' were able to produce fabulous drawings!

Wet Day Bubble Fun!

Today was an indoor rainy day so we decided to burn off some energy by chasing bubbles inside. There was a lot of squealing and a lot of fun! We are going to write about our bubble fun. Watch this space :)

SAND GARDENS!

Room 4 made sand gardens. First, we planned what we would do and what we would need...

Next, we walked around the school and collected all the materials we would need...

Finally, we worked on creating them...

The finished product!

FINDING FEIJOAS!

Our gorgeous garden is filled with delicious feijoas at the moment, so we took a trip down to collect some. They are on our windowsill while they finish ripening. We can't wait to eat them!

Learning to read

The Monkeys and Penguins groups have been learning early reading skills such as talking about the pictures, pointing to each word as they read, and locating words they know then isolating them using their fingers. They are working really hard and are becoming fabulous readers!
