Our Inquiry Unit for the next two terms is called Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. It is about looking at the past to understand today and the future.
We are beginning by looking at age.
How old are you?
How old is old?
How young is young?
Do you want to live to be 100 years old?
My name is Ivy and I am delighted to be the teacher of room 6. I have been a teacher in the Philippines for many years. My journey to become a teacher in New Zealand started through studying TESOL in 2016 and Master of Teaching and Learning in 2018.

We are now Room 4!
We are now in Room 4. All of us have moved from Room 5 into Room 4 and the old Room 4 has moved into Room 5! We had to take all our books and pictures with us. Sometimes we forget and go to the wrong room! Levi has moved into Room 13. Come and visit us in Room 4.

Pizza Sauce
We visited our class garden to see what was growing, and picked just 3 ripe tomatoes. There were more green ones.
Whaea Sheryl brought some more ripe tomatoes from her garden.
We cooked pizza sauce with tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper.
Then we whizzed it up with the blender. Whooosh!
We all had a taste - it's good to taste new things.
Most of us thought it tasted delicious.
We will share our pizza sauce at the Harvest Festival.

Busy Bees
We are learning about bees because our blog is called Busy Bees.
A busy bee works very hard to make honey for us to eat.
We are busy bees because we are busy learning.
Watch this video to learn more about how bees make honey.
