Today was an indoor rainy day so we decided to burn off some energy by chasing bubbles inside. There was a lot of squealing and a lot of fun! We are going to write about our bubble fun. Watch this space :)
My name is Ivy and I am delighted to be the teacher of room 6. I have been a teacher in the Philippines for many years. My journey to become a teacher in New Zealand started through studying TESOL in 2016 and Master of Teaching and Learning in 2018.

SAND GARDENS!
Room 4 made sand gardens. First, we planned what we would do and what we would need...
Next, we walked around the school and collected all the materials we would need...
Finally, we worked on creating them...
The finished product!

FINDING FEIJOAS!
Our gorgeous garden is filled with delicious feijoas at the moment, so we took a trip down to collect some. They are on our windowsill while they finish ripening. We can't wait to eat them!

Learning to read
The Monkeys and Penguins groups have been learning early reading skills such as talking about the pictures, pointing to each word as they read, and locating words they know then isolating them using their fingers. They are working really hard and are becoming fabulous readers!
Harvest Festival
At the end of term one we had a harvest festival to celebrate and enjoy all the beautiful food we have been busy growing at school. It was an opportunity to help prepare food to be shared with others.
We helped to cut our fruit and put it onto skewers.
We sat on the netball courts and said a karakia.
The teachers handed us some food.
It was delicious!

Learning to play together
Erin from Project Energize came in to teach us some co-operative games. We had to work together to help our team win. It was so much fun!
