Counting Cars.

We learnt about making a tally chart this week and how it can help us record information.

Together with a partner, we made our own tally chart and found out what vehicles go past our school between 9:20-9:30am.

Some children collected information about the colours of cars, and some found out what types of vehicles go past.

Great counting and recording!

Pangarau ~ Statistics - gather, record, interpret.

For the first part of this term, we are focusing on the Statistics Maths strand.  We are learning to gather and collect data/information, record it and interpret it.

This has helped us to find out lots of things about the learners in Room 6.

How does Room 6 come to school....???

What pets do Room 6 have...???

What shoes do Room 6 children wear.....???

Drawing our portraits as part of Turangawaewae.

This is some Room 6 children taking a careful look at their faces in a mirror then try to draw them.

This activity helps us to notice and observe shapes, proportions, and how different or similar we are to others.

Taonga o te kura ~ treasures of school.

This week we went on a treasure hunt around our beautiful school.

We found all our taonga and more.

Off we go....

Welcome to Room 6 Learners and family.

 Kia ora whanau,

Welcome to Hamilton East School Room 6 learners blog !  Here we share whole class activities and events so you can see some of what we have been up to.  Seesaw blogs are for individual posts and children can share things they have learnt about or made in the classroom.

Please feel free to comment on a page- we'd love your feedback.

We've had a great first few days together, getting to know each other and our new space.  We have 5 new students joining our class and school community and welcome them and their whanau warmly to Hamilton East school.

Here is a picture under our school redwood tree.
